Senior Leigh I finally figured out the clunk noise it was my struts and strut mounts I changed them to bilstein struts. Having a problem with my ride comfort I have played around with tire pressure and if it’s like 45 psi cold the car handles great but very hard on bumps . I really think it’s my tires the kumho TA 71 have a lot of bad reviews also my transmission is very jerky not sure why ?
Ok thanks senior Leigh I’m still hearing that noise when I shake the wheel In and out I believe it may be the strut this is frustrating. the problem is with the front left wheel for sure. Should I try to remove axle and reinstall?
Due to your video showed the moving part of the drive shaft, I considered the snap ring or the retaining ring have damaged. If my guess id correct, to replace the rings is away cheaper than the entire shaft.
Senior Leigh I may have found the problem my axle is having lots of play and is making clunk noise in and out ? Is this the problem ??? And I feel vibration constantly in steering high and low speed ?
no clunk when turning wheel its when I push the wheel in and out like on my video the car feels wobbly and rough at times it’s definitely something wrong with the front left wheel??? could it be strut ?
Senior Leigh I still need your help I finally changed the driver side front wheel bearing and I’m still having that play when pushing in on the top of tire. what else could it be it’s only on the front driver side. could it be the strut ?
Senior Leigh I took everything apart and made sure everything was tight when I put it back together it is still making that noise I think it’s the bearing
@gregory.baldwin.jr The driveshaft is normal. If the bearing is worn you would hear the squeaking while driving. So after you put them back, if the vibration is still, you might focus on the steering system, check from the tie rod.
im getting a low speed wobble. the tie rod is tight the inner tie rod moves around easily but no in and out play. If I put my hand ✋ on top of tire and rock it I hear the same noise it only happens when the car is on the ground. when the car is jacked up the wheel is tight. that’s why I think it’s the bearing sounds like a knock noise. Also Merry Christmas 🎄
Happy holidays Senior Leigh still having a few issues with my w212 I finally figured out what is causing my shake in the wheel. it turned out to be my driver side Wheel bearing. Also my transmission is jerky still sometimes not as bad it’s very strange sometimes it feels like it’s bucking. Do I need a software update will that fix the rough shifts?
@gregory.baldwin.jr after reset the logic of shifting, just drive normally. After a week driving the shifting would be smooth again. Your Star version is pretty new, no necessary to upgrade, just keep the data status newer than your car is ok.
That's weird, normally the tire pressure guide should be on the inside of the gas door. In my experience, the 4Matic tire pressure is the same as the 4 tires. For a two-wheel-drive car, the tire pressure on the driving wheels will be higher. Since your E350 is 4Matic, I suggest you set the tire pressure as the same as front and rear. From 33 psi to 41 psi are safe for your car. You might balance the comfort and fuel economy to determine the tire pressure. I set my E350 tire pressure as 35f and 36r.
The weak battery may cause the shift problem. The Mercedes's transmission is sensitive with voltage. You can not test the battery health by MB star, use this one: https://amzn.to/3bwO5F7
Thanks senior Leigh I appreciate the information 🙏. Also is there any way to fix my shifting problem I have changed the filter and fluid and have done an adaptation which didn’t help much. sometimes the car shifts ok and sometimes it’s jerky. could it be my torque converter ,valve body or shift solenoids ? I have no codes. i also feel shudder at times like a vibration not sure if it’s balance or transmission at low speeds ?
can a weak battery cause my transmission to shift rough? Never knew that I have xentry diagnostic gonna check my voltage on there and I will let you kno also my parking brake handle came off please help senior Leigh
The cable is not broken to the best of my knowledge when I put my finger in the hole I still feel the cable inside haven’t had time to try to pull it out and hook it back to the handle also When I press the emergency brake pedal it’s not catching anymore it goes down to the floor and comes back
also senior Leigh when I have a nice load in the trunk usually 100 lbs they car drives really well and it goes straight on the highway? When I remove the weight the car wanders on the highway. could my rear shocks be bad?
also Im getting a shimmy in my steering wheel at low speed 45 mph But goes away at higher speed ? Also when I brake I get a little shimmy in my steering probably rotors?
For wheelbase measurement, the absolute value of the measurement is not important, the importance is equal to left and right. You might measure them when alignment or measure them by yourself. 1, keep the steering wheel straight; 2, Measure the length from the center edge of the left and right front wheel hub to the corresponding position of the rear wheel respectively (you might let somebody help you hole the tape); 3, compare the values of left and right wheelbase. If same that If they are the same, it means that the chassis is not deformed, otherwise the suspension system was damaged by the accident.
From the center of the front wheel,
To the center of the rear wheel.
That's the one side of the wheelbase. And then measure the other side.
@gregory.baldwin.jr The method to detect the shock absorber is to press a corner of the car body and immediately release it. If the car body does not fluctuate more than twice, the shock absorber is okay. You might check your shock by this method.
For the steering wheel shimmy at low speed, the most probably is the worse balance of the wheel. Rebalancing them should be good.
For the steering wheel shimmy when brake, the most probably is the rotors uneven. Washing the car immediately after long-distance driving causes sudden cold deformation of the rotors.
I purchased the vehicle used from a reputable dealership they said the damage was cosmetic and I looked underneath and checked everything and all looks good I also had the vehicle inspected at numerous shops Do you think something is bent or my shocks are bad?
@Senior Leigh | 老李 ok sir I did preload the suspension before i tightened the bolt the only thing I didn’t tighten It up to specification I did like 70-75 ftlbs
Also could I need new shocks ride is very hard I feel every bump I have 108k miles my struts are not leaking ? im running 35 psi front cold and 41 psi rear cold ?

Is this normal for my transmission?

Ok will try that tomorrow
Just ordered load tester
also what should my tire pressure be
on my gas door it says 33f 33r on my driver side it says 35f 41r what should I run ?
what do you recommend?

Senior Leigh Should I take it to Mercedes to get a camber kit an alignment???
I found out that your car has experienced an accident, was the car accident serious?
I saw the camber angle of two front and the left rear wheels are abnormal.
