Hello , I saw your videos and feel they are all amazing , super good materials for me to know my car.
I recently got engine lights on , error showing p2188 too rich idle on bank 1,
And p2179 too lean idle on bank2
The symdrome happens sometimes ,not always, by luck or by no luck, I find problem when accelerating.
The engine just doesn't response to my pedal press. Even I press to the limit, the engine doesn’t response in ratio, like super tired , nearly no power . but if gear in 1 or 2, it can still go. if gear 3, not even able to move up slope.
if leave the car for a few days and back, it could resume normal sometimes.
What is the possible reasons you think? And what kind of stuff do you think I can test first ?
Many thanks Master Leigh sir.
I've changed frp sensor and so far already a month passed. Still works fine.
Hope this helps others benz-ers to soove their problems.
Ok, that seems to be a problem with the fuel supply system.
The failed parts may be the connectors or wirings of the fuel rail pressure sensor, fuel filter, fuel pump, and FRP sensor.
Here is a list I recommend you to do (test drive after every part replaced):
1, check the connectors or wirings of the fuel rail pressure sensor;
2, replace clogged fuel filter;
3, replace furl pump;
4, replace the FRP sensor.
And I remember I experienced 3times , Everytime the symdrome appears right after I fuel up gasoline.
Just happen a few days or next day after I fuel up.
I haven't checked yet , but wonder theoretically, how does this contribute to the uneven air:fuel ratio ? While one I'd the bank is too rich , the other is too lean
I'm very happy you like my video, and I'm not a master, just a regular DIYer lol.
For the symptom of your car, have you ever checked the air filter seated correctly?
