Good afternoon Sr. Leigh, I wanted to help you save your S550 from an ECU problem. Oil seems to be going from the camshaft position sensors thru the harness, and into the ECU. If left unchecked it could cost you a lot of money to swap the ECU plus the harness. https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w212/815950-camshaft-sensor-leaking.html

Thanks for your reminder, I'll check it asap.
Correct. By the Bluefficiency badges on your S550 you have a 2012. I meant to say Camshaft position sensor plug, not Crankshaft. Please check, and see if it's leaking by unplugging it. You can not see the leak from the outside. Would be a cool youtube video from you.
Just saw that, as my understanding, the leaking engine oil was siphoned into the hose of the hardness and went into the pin of the ECU, is that right?
Please check the link, it has pictures of where the problem starts. It has been well documented, and it also affecting M276 as well as M157 AMG engines. It has affected users with as little has 47k miles.
Hello Chris,
Thanks for your link. Just the ECU of M278 is located on the top of the engine, the leaking oil can only flow down.
