What type of scanner for home use? There are so many options out there. Original duplex , Clone duplex , Panasonic Toughbook ,C4 , C5, Xentry, etc........So many on sale on eBay. Which one should I get?

Hi, once you reset the maintenance reminder the recording is saved in your vehicle. If you want it saved in the public record, you can manually record it on the Carfax website and indicate it’s by yourself.
got some stimulus money, so would this be a good turn key out of the box kit? I have 2 w211 presently. but always can use it to fix newer Benz in the future.
If you're going to understand and get details of your MB, whatever DIY or leave it at a dealer. A diagnosis system can save money and time. The software compatible with all of the previous models except the carburetor. If the newer model was published later than the software release date. You have to upgrade the software to the date. But the hardware is the same.

C5 is the newest of the MB Star. Both C4 and C5 are designed for dealers to do everything on maintenance and repair for Mercedes. For a DIYer, the function is too powerful.
For 3rd party diagnosis, I recommend iCarsoft MBII for Mercedes Benz https://amzn.to/2SbcYMR, most of the maintenance and diagnosis can be done with it.

I wanted to ask you : do you think 3rd party diagnosis can check electric sliding doors sensors on a V-Class ?
My right electric sliding door stopped working and I suspect it is only a software issue, maybe resetting the error would get it working again.
Or do you think Xentry with an openport ODB can fix this ?
