Urmecch Jack Stand Adapters

You are certainly right to be concerned with stability when working under the vehicle - indeed the Mercedes documentation repeatedly points out the risk of death from the vehicle slipping off jack stands.

I am not professionally qualified to speak on this subject, so my comments are only my personal opinion, which I use to guide my own practices - not advice to others. Personally I believe that the adapters, if properly used, actually tend to enhance stability, because there is rubber-to-plastic contact to the plastic Mercedes lift attachment at the top, with the top of the adapter perfectly encased within the lift attachment recess, and rubber-to-steel contact to the jack stand at the bottom, with the adapter shaped to contact both the top and the sides of the jack stand arm. Friction force is the product of contact area times friction coefficient, and I believe the adapters increase both contact area and friction coefficient relative to a steel-to-plastic contact or a steel-to-steel contact without the adapters. Incidentally, the rubber is very strong, and very little deformation is observed under load. I am happy to provide these additional pictures for information:
