I have a 2015 W212 E350 Sport M276 RWD Sedan, it's got 45,000 miles on it and was just informed both my front timing covers are seeping oil. It does not seem serious now but I want to see if I can repair it myself as I was quoted almost $1000 by independent shops (Dealer wanted $1400). I am willing to buy all the tools needed but was wondering if the intake plenum needs to be removed to gain access, I see a lot of other parts that will need to be removed as well to gain access but I think I could manage.
Any tips to doing this job? what is the best way clean off the old sealent?
Or if you feel this job is not for the beginner then I will take it to a shop.
I know that is a lot of infomation I am asking for but any tips and equipment I will need would be most useful.

First, thank you for all the videos you provide and assistance, they have been a great help to learning. I am just starting to work on our Mercedes. I was told that our 2014 E350 Sport RWD M276.952 has the same issue as Mr Hu. I was quoted around $1500+ and would like to tackle this myself too if I can.
As such I do not plan on starting immediately, but am preparing. I read through the comments and had an initial question. When you said, "If you can apply the sealant carefully and correctly, that's not a big deal.", could you elaborate on this. Do you have a video or can you point me to one that would show how to properly do this.
