BTW, since I tear the boot of one of the coils, I replaced the entire coil for $40, later I discover you can just replace the boot for $12. In case someone has same problem I would recommend just replacing the boot if the electronics of the coil are ok. I just finished replacing the spark plugs. The truck starts and runs perfectly. Thank you very much for all the support and the help you bring to this community, without people like you it would be hard to find courage to repair such expensive machines. Next job is to replace oil trans for the ML and SLK. I'm confident things will be good. Thanks again and I'll keep you posted on the valve leak I found on the ML. I need to investigate how bad and dangerous to the engine is to have such leak even if it's an small one.
Hi, I'm in the process of doing the driver side of the plugs on a ML350 '15. Although is same engine as your E class, things are arrange a bit different, and had to take out some trim peaces. Also I didn't disconnected the battery and no key plugged in the truck. When I disconnected the second terminal from ECU headlights started bliking. I was not expecting that. I hope I didn't mess with my ECU or get codes later. Although I didn't had any key connected I do have keyless entry and the push button was in. Keys are not close to the truck, but not sure if that made any difference. I guess I'll see once I connect everything. Also due to tight space I'm thinking to un bolt the oil dipstick bracket. wondering If I could have any problems with that. Please advise. Is the blue bolt on the picture.
I never met this condition if the ignition switch is off. But I don't think that would be a problem for your ECU. But I recommend to purchase a MB Star or a third party diagnosis system, like a iCarsoft
From my experience, the main obstacle is the thick hardwire, I lift it and keep it at the side. If you have to remove the guide tube, the bolt torque is 5 Nm.
